As the IT companies are no more recruiting, the time has turned towards government related jobs. Usually the government jobs are more safe and secure. So the freshers can concentrate on government jobs. If fresheres are not able to get a job at UG level, they can go for higher studies, then apply for government jobs. They need not worry about salary packages in government concerns.

it's quite true. you dont get layoffs
Another way to indirectly work for the government is to work for a government contractor. This especially if your job set skills do not fall into the typical government job. These days you need to start thinking outside of the box if you have been through a layoff. Think of how your skills would transfer into another industry.
Certainly, this is an alternative idea
